Great fall weather, fun walkers, and a cookout at the lake. It was a perfect day for the Rock Chalk LCM Walk! More than thirty of us(mostly people, a couple of canines) walked from Trinity Lutheran/Bethany House to Clinton Lake, with a stop at Good Shepherd Lutheran to pick up more walkers! The total walk was about 12 kilometers or roughly 7 miles. Gary Teske rode back and forth along the way keeping everyone refreshed with drinks and granola bars.
Donations for the walk are still coming in, but so far we have more than $6500 in contributions! Matching grants from the Douglas County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are being applied for, which would bring our total to over $7300!!! Thank you! Thanks to everybody who helped: those of you who walked, those who donated, those who brought food, and those who helped celebrate afterwards! Special thanks to Roland Pera, who had the vision for this, and who organized and planned and saw the event through from start to finish, to Heather Pera Winker and Dayna Langdon for getting the wonderful tshirts,to Lara West, who greeted the walkers at Good Shepherd, and to Kim Mosher, Clay and Katie Davis, and everyone else who helped feed the crowd!
