In 2012 we’re celebrating 90 years of Lutheran Campus Ministry in Lawrence, and 50 years as a staffed campus ministry site. As we celebrate these years of mission and ministry, we invite you to take a look back at decades of outreach, fellowship, food and fun:
The Lutheran Student Association of America began a chapter at KU in the early 1920s. For many years Trinity was the home for LSAA. The pictures here, from the 1940s and 1950s, are from LSAA events and the ashram gatherings of students.
In the 1960s, David Johnson was called as the first full time campus pastor at KU. David served from 1962 until 1965, and the ministry was located in his house on Crescent Road. Don Conrad was campus pastor at KU from 1965 until 1992. See photos from the 1980s and the 1990s. Isn’t that an exciting copier? (Please, we’d love to have more photos from these years!)

Brian Johnson served as campus pastor from 1993 until 1996, and Shawn Norris has been campus pastor at KU since 1997. Photos from recent years are here: 2000s, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010 Christmas Party.
A great part of our ministry has been our alternative spring break trip to New York City. This year marks the 17th annual alternative spring break. Pictures from past mission trips are here: New York City: 2003, 2007 , 2010. Pictures from Spring Break in Cuernavaca are here!
