Worship
Worship is one of the primary expressions of LCM at KU. We gather to celebrate the Word and Sacrament in a variety of ways. From August through May we have Sunday evening communion, and Thursday evening prayer. Please check the calendar for worship opportunities during the summer.
Holy Communion – Sundays at 5 pmWeekly worship on Sunday afternoon provides an opportunity to join with friends to explore the love of God. These services generally follow a traditional liturgical format; Gathering, Word, Communion, and Sending. We use liturgical settings from a variety of sources throughout the year.
Evening Prayer – Thursdays at 8 pmEvening prayer is an opportunity for a reflective break from the busy week. These services are often student led in a variety of formats. We sometimes use a structured prayer service such as Compline, Holden Evening Prayer, Iona, or a Taize-style meditation.
Worship at LCM is a participatory experience. We sing and pray as a group. There are also lots of opportunities for helping to lead worship, from planning a prayer service to reading, praying, or assisting during a Sunday service. Don’t worry about signing up, just come and let us know.
Music
If you have musical talents, we’d love to hear them. Music is a big part of our worship: liturgy, hymns, and anthems are sung, often with instrumental accompaniment. Tim Gabriel is our Music Director, please let him know if you would like to offer your talents, or just show up on Sunday at 4:30 for choir rehearsal before the service.
