Worship

LCM gathers for worship twice a week. Both services are followed by meals.

On Sundays, we have a full service with Holy Communion. We use different liturgies, including Mass of Glory, Mass of Creation, and Now the Feast, which we change periodically. A choir sings at Sunday worship, and students serve as the assisting minister, reader, and pray-er. Students take turns cooking for the group each week, and meals range from sandwiches to Mexican food. Worship starts at 5pm and dinner starts around 6pm.

On Wednesdays, we have evening prayer, which is a thirty-minute service (no sermon and no Communion). The liturgy or style of worship varies from week to week, and these include Holden Evening Prayer, Taizé, and post-modern. Students serve as leaders, readers, and pray-ers. We have Spaghetti for the Soul afterwards. It is as it sounds. We eat spaghetti, salad, and bread from Wheatfields, and we discuss life and religion and any number of things. This is followed by ice cream. Yum. Evening prayer starts at 6pm and dinner starts around 6:30pm.

Our music director is Lara West. She's phenomenal. She plays piano most Sundays and many Wednesdays, and she brings together musicians to sing in the choir and play instrumental parts.

LCM is a Reconciling in Christ congregation. All are welcome to worship and commune with us.
